I do believe REDUX has slightly toned down effects compared to the original though, which I remember being awful in that regard. They're far too intense for times when you barely take any damage at all. The game does have blood/dirt effects when taking damage that are pretty annoying. It also helps that the game has a great aesthetic, even if the technical aspects of the visuals can be noticeably dated at times. Polygon counts are noticeably low, but textures look decent and the lighting effects are pretty darn good it uses some clever techniques to emulate more advanced lighting tech and it works darn well for the most part. Graphically, the game holds up surprisingly well.

This is the only game that has ever happened for me.

For whatever reason I just couldn't get the game to stop tearing no ingame option nor driver setting worked. The game had some issues with V-Sync and Adaptive Sync (Freesync/G-Sync). It's a nice feature with the lack of Anti-Aliasing that the game has. The main graphical addition in REDUX is super-sampling you can render the game at up to 200% resolution. REDUX adds a melee weapon, but I think that detracts more than it adds to the game simply because it's not great(the game clearly wasn't made with melee combat in mind) and it gets in the way of cycling between the ranged weapons (there are 2 ranged weapons with 5 firing modes each).

REDUX also adds QuickSave functionality, making such issues even less of a hassle. The dash also has a downside in that dashing down slopes/stairs can sometimes kill you from the momentum, but it's not a common occurrence and is easily avoided. It does make the game a lot easier though, so I recommend playing the game on Hard to compensate. It makes exploration much less of a boring and makes fights more interactive. That being said, the ability to dash on its own is a massive improvement to the game. The REDUX version makes a few graphical and gameplay adjustments, mostly for the better, but not exclusively so. This REDUX version of the game also includes the original(on Steam), so there's no reason to even consider buying that version on its own. It's a good game, but one with notable flaws.

It was good solid fun the first time around and the Redux feels like a waste of time. This game does feel easier, but I didn't mind either. There were a lot of complaints about the game visuals seem not being as good as the original, and that the game difficulty was better on the original version. They added this dash evasive move that makes moving closer into enemies to take them down, or run away вЂ“ a lot easier. In fact - the zombies seem totally out of place for the game and is a bit of a bad decision.ДЇourth вЂ“ the game difficulty. The zombies that we now have in the Redux and a couple more monsters didnвЂ™t make much of a difference.

I thought that was okay the first time around. You now have an option for melee combat, but to be honest вЂ“ the shooting is so much fun that the katana stays in the weapons pouch most of the time. There were only two in the original game вЂ“ so they added a kind of electric katana. Okay вЂ“ so the story is slightly clearer now, but it's still awful. The first thing was the story вЂ“ it was awful and patchy the first time around, so they improved the cut-scenes to fill in some gap.

I consider it more of an update to fix a few things that players complained about. The little that changed did not justify a re-release. Graphics looks the same and story is the same. I'll start with the final verdict вЂ“ I canвЂ™t see a justification for the Redux. I played Hard Reset Extended Edition back in April and went for the Redux just to see if they improved on what was a fun but uninspiring shooter.
